Do you still see/talk to/hang out with any classmates? Who?

Richard Chepey, Larence Rose, Marc Saltzbeg Have just now started. Hooked up with Bob Needham this summer in Chattanooga on our 600 TN River trip to try to make contacts with a few others.

I have worked to raise money the past 23 years for the Children's Hospital throught the Childrens Miracle Network. We do a Charity event each summer on Jet Skis down the Tennessee River. 600 miles of fun but raise money for the Kids. Have participants from all over the country come to do this week long trip and vacation. Can be view on Facebook and our web site

I have traveled in all 48 States when driving and 6 of the Canadian Prov. Have seen each State at different times of the year and enjoy most every mile I drove over the past 40 years.
I love to ride my Harley and have a pair of Jet Skis which I put on close to 3000 miles on them each year. Start in Feb and end in Dec, yes cold weather, Why not? Life is too short not to enjoy it.
I got to visit Larry Rose out in Phoenix this past spring with his wife Danny. They are both fighting some health problems but was glad I got to see them after 50 years from Shaker to now. Keep them in your prayers. BG PS note Danny has passed away since. Still write Larry.

Update due to health reasons I had to let my Harley go. My mobility has gotten to the point where a cane is necessary a lot and if I go down it take some strong mussel to get me back up unless I'm close to a railing. This really bothers me now.
The Pandemic and not being able to live freely any longer has upset some summer plans and just hope next year will be better.

What's your life been like in the past 15-20 years? What changes have influenced you?

Been a big Challenge since the age of 42 after the first round with my heart condition, but have tried to live a good life and take my meds and stay away from temptations that would affect my Health. I attribute my life to having a wife who keeps me in control most of the time. I do miss not being able to do some fun rides and things I enjoy like the long distant Jet Ski trips but I'm still breathing. BG

School Story:

After school, next week, we moved to Tennessee my fathers home. I tried to join the Navy but my size kept me out of the branch I wanted to join. A couple of years later I was drafted by the Army which again I was even bigger and didn't pass the Phy. exam. Being big has a lot of problems as I found out later in life. I worked in a couple of places, the Shipping business as a reeceiving clerk and part time Dock workers for the freight industry. It was rather off and on work so took a job as Factory Superintendent for an Anodizing Plant, which if you remember any colored Aluminum products like Antennas and Lawn chairs, more then likey it had Reynolds. It was very long hours and working for salary was not what I thought it would work out too as my employees were making more money then I was on there hourly rates. Decided to get back into the Trucking business at that time starting out hauling Constuction Steel, "Flatbed" and then went to work with a Union company, Mason Dixon. From there I went on with Ryder/PIE for 20 years till they closed the doors. The next 12 years I worked for State Industries again as an over the road driver which was a great experiance, Travel all of the US continent and all 6 of the Canadian Provinces. Was a great way to see the country and got paid for it at the same time. Yes some of it was a challange in bad weather but so is Life on a daily bases. I drove over 3.8 Million safe driving miles over the years and a total of 4 million before I retired to very limited part time work in 2004 due to health reason. I still do as needed part time work for a local company close to where I live which gets me out of the house some. I guess I get cabin fever very easy. I still travel a lot all over the country. Go to Laughlin NV at least once a year to ride the Colorado River from there down to Lake Havasu, "London Bridge" and back, with friends from LA, Ca. And my closest friend, 92 years old from Phoenix. He is still active and I hope I can live as long as he has and still be able to hop on a jet ski and take off with the rest of us "Speeders". I spend a lot of time on the water in the Spring through the Fall doing rides all over Tennessee and on the East Coast, from Monch's Corner SC down to Beaufort SC and Savannah GA and back. Like to ride with the Dolphins and see the Gators along the way. My biggest event is raising money for the "Children's Hospital" .
WE have done this event for 23 years now and have about 50-60 jet skis every year whom have come from as far away as California and New York.Even had a couple rom Hawaii attend the last couple of years. They keep their ski's State side in Oregon. Great people and a fun bunch with their familys to be with for a week riding down the Tennessee River.
My best memory I guess from High School were some of those times the group would get together at Pep Rallies and before sporting events. Do remember getting into some trouble a few times by doing things that Kids will do but that was always a good laugh, until we had to clean it up or detention, LOL Sometimes I think I got the Finger pointed at me more then what I deserved, but I always took it. I do miss some of those times but think I left Shaker area just before or during a lot of change taking place back then. Moving South really put a different light on what we had in the North and around the Cleveland Area.
I have seen a lot and witnessed a lot of great times and some not so great like the recent Tornado Events in Oklahoma. We get them every year but when it strikes a school with kids still in it I really get on my knees. Can't control the weather but some stories we can. Make the best out of life and hope the Reunion goes great. Would love to hear from any one who remembers the Big guy who took up space in Shaker. Still Big so just say Big George

First outing in 2013 and I managed to suck up a large stick in the pump which ended the outing till I could get it out of the water and back home.

When not out on the Water riding, I use this toy to get out and enjoy the sights of being out doors.
