I join the others in knowing her as a very kind, warm, generous women. She made giving to others her life's work. I so appreciated the gatherings she had for some of the reunions giivng us the oppotunity to meet in her lovely home. I moved away and lost touch but I hold her in my hear with gratitude. I'm sad.

I remember playig canasta at Ilenes's during luch. I would cheat and help others win. Ilene was always kind to me and I deeply appreciated that. She was warm and accepting and often fun. My ocnsolences to her family. I hope she was surrounded by the kindness she lived.

Joe Bauer was my first boyfriend. I didn't kept up with him over the years. I was so glad to read the brief summary of his life achievements and interests. It seems he was quite a compassionate man dedicating himself to peopel really in need - and in such a creative way. I'm feeling like I missed a lot by not keeping in touch. My condolences to his family and friends. I want to honor the brief and young relationship that we had.
