Joe Petko, class of 1962

Graduate of Michigan State University from their school of Communication Arts. Member of the MSU 1965 and 1966 National Championship Football Teams lettering in 1964 and 1966, followed by two years in the Continental Football League of America. Primarily served in the plastic's industry in the roles of sales, purchasing and as general manager. Proud father of two beautiful and responsible daughters who have honored us with three grand-daughters; Payton, Jordie and Alex. Unfortunately, both of my daughters live in California, and I do not see them as often as I would like. Married to Diane since 1990, who has two daughters, Shannon and Kelly, and have another darling grand-daughter, Julianna. Diane has so many talents, she designed our home and was the general contractor when it was built. I often kid that she was the general and I was the private.

Attended Shaker and absolutely enjoyed my classmates. I seldom see any of them except for Joe Petko, who has always been a dear and loyal friend. I certainly do miss those days, when all of us, regardless of our race, religion, et.al. were legitimate friends. How very fortunate we were to go to such an excellent school with such great traditions, students and teachers.
